The aging, ballasted EPDM roof installed on the Country Club was experiencing severe ponding and was leaking into the interior. A solution was needed! It’s important to remember that ponding is common on almost every low-slope roof. Extreme ponding often indicates a drainage issue. In this case, the ballast rock was also helping to retain some of the water.

We installed a mechanically attached TPO roof and updated drains to help reduce ponding. The big deciduous trees that provide both excellent Summer shade and Autumn colors also leave an imprint on the roof. Clearing drains and gutters often during the fall will help keep ponding to a minimum and extend the life expectancy of the roof.
