There are a lot of good reasons to opt for a metal roof. There are just as many reasons for a building owner to cover that metal roof. A lay-over reroof project leaves the existing metal roof in place to act as the decking onto which new roofing materials will be affixed.
The first step we took at this lay-over job was to fill the spaces between the raised seams of the metal roof. Then, we laid insulation, which can help control the internal climate of the building, act as a sound-dampening barrier, and provide a layer for the roofing membrane to adhere to. The outermost layer of this roofing project is the single-ply roofing membrane.
