2024 Helping Hands Projects Recap
Growing Community One Roof at a Time
Projects with History
This year’s Helping Hands projects have history.
Our Appleton Crew worked with our commercial re-roof recipient for many months to design an optimized custom project to meet their needs, goals, and budget. Taking time and moving at the customer’s pace is part of our signature process. We believe there’s no sense in rushing into a project that would fall short of expectations.
For their tireless work building community, our client deserves the best! Aspiro has been serving the greater Green Bay area since 1957. They create opportunities for people experiencing disabilities to live their best lives. The nonprofit’s scope of services has grown along with its building and roofing needs. We were proud to do our part to support their mission and our community.
Camp American Legion – Lake Tomahawk, WI
When our old friend Camp American Legion was a Helping Hand recipient in 2022, we completed reroofs on four of their buildings.
This summer, our Crew went up to complete some thorough investigation and any necessary repairs to their community building with a unique barrel roof.
This building hosts a wide variety of activities like live music and dances, billiards and card games, sewing/quilting circles – to name just a few. It was an honor and a privilege to service this integral building at such an impactful Camp. We hope those who enjoy Camp American Legion can continue to enjoy their activities under this water-tight roof for many more years to come.
Messer / Mayer Mill – Richfield Historic Society
Our third community Helping Hands project was a collaboration with the Richfield, WI Historic Society.
The Messer / Mayer Mill House was built around 1870 and has been maintained as the center of the Richfield Historical Park since 1997. This self-sustaining family farm housed multiple generations for over 100 years. Many of the original homesteading items have been preserved inside the home to provide a glimpse at life around the turn of the century. To help preserve this home for many more decades to come, the Historical Society purchased Enviroshake shingles. The craftsmen of Great Lakes Roofing installed them and new copper edging bringing an elegant finish to this project.
More than just a roof…
We value using our roofing skills to build community. Every year we complete Helping Hands projects that provide roofing to community organizations. Helping Hands furthers the missions of the organizations by offsetting costs of repairs or roof replacement, allowing more of their capital to stay mission-focused.
We build community one roof at a time because we value our neighbors, believe in strengthening our communities, and take pride in where we call home. Sharing the work and mission of the community organizations is the best part of every Helping Hands project!
