Every year we donate turkey to some of our community members, and it’s always an energizing, smile-filled opportunity to continue building community

Today, we met up with our Crew at the meat purveyor and divvied out the turkey for each to take to their chosen organizations.

Meet Street Angels Milwaukee

Over the past ~4 years, Chris Lampien has gotten to know Street Angels and support their mission packing “lunch for later” meals. He felt called to support their mission with Thanksgiving turkey this year too.

To put it simply, Street Angels takes warm meals all around Milwaukee County from as far north as Butler, south to Hales Corners, east into downtown Milwaukee, and all throughout Milwaukee County;  Tues, Thurs and Sun evenings each week. Their “outreach mission is to provide consistency and hope to those who are among the most vulnerable in our community.”

There’s more than meals that serve our neighbors without homes. Street Angels offer compassion, access to resources, and guidance for individuals needing help. Sleeping bags/blankets, clothes/jackets/boots, and hygiene items are also among the items offered from the bus. Since summer 2022, they have seen an increase in the number of people in need of services including families, and lots of local shelters are full.
